The following pages contain flyers
and info of mainly DJ performances and are organized by dates and promoters
involved.
In 1991 Fitz worked for a company called
Musique Wave DJ's in Miami; which was composed of DJs Pupy, Nolo, & Fitz.
They did all sorts of events from weddings to any
event that would require a mobile DJ. In essence, Fitz started out as a mobile DJ
and working with this DJ company allowed him to aquire the experience and meet
the people who let him evolve in doing what he loved to do.
During the time he was a mobile DJ
he had the chance to meet one of the best DJs that Miami has produced he was and
still is Warsaw Ballroom's resident DJ and also the cousin of Fitz' best friend
Lulu. His name is David Padilla. It was through David that he learned the ins
& outs of being a Club DJ; he also got his 1200s from him, and most of the
records too. It was through David that he also enrolled in the most
prestigious Record Pool Club of Miami, Flamingo Record Pool (these are the
people in charge of the Miami Winter Music Conference).
Fitz' first club venue was the
Pent Dragon's Look-Out After-hours Parties
on Saturdays at the
Paragon Club in South Beach, Miami, Florida. Fitz got the job through his
friends Gabe & Jose who knew almost everyone in South Beach. Gabe, Jose,
Nolo, & Hector worked as promoters for the parties. The music format was Tribal, Dub
House, Garage, Trance, and some Techno and it came out on the papers as the best
After Hours in Miami. The promoters, whose company name was
itself Pent Dragon, started a Wednesday night party at The Spot Bar, also in
South Beach, and Fitz was also called for these events. Sometimes he would go in
for other DJs like George Acosta on Mondays. He also worked for the same
promoters at The Union Bar also in South Beach. Fitz was doing clubs but except
for his first venue this where mostly commercial music clubs. He was still
looking for the true underground club adventure.
One day, through his roommate
Andrea he met this guys who were Rave promoters, Galaxia &
Hardcore Promotions, and trough them he also met Yajaira, also a big promoter in
South Beach. Yajaira had a Saturday night in a club in SoBe. It was Fitz' first
pure Rave venue. It was also the first time he worked with renowned DJ Stryke.
All these events gave birth to what was to come next.
These two fliers above are from
two different nights at The Kitchen Club in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida.
The Club was usually an Alternative, Industrial & Gothic music club, but the
promoters Galaxia & Hardcore managed to convince the owner to try a Techno Rave night & they
got two, Sundays and Wednesdays.
The Kitchen was an
awesome little club with an incredible sound system and a Urei mixer; but those
were not the only good things, Fitz was able to spin with two legends of Miami's
Rave Scene, the pioneers of underground Raves in Miami, DJs Krypto & Dr.
Psychosis. They took him to the Rave school.
